On a dreich Christmas Day, the pack never made it out of the confines of Broad Street as the Uppies smuggled the Ba' away from in beside The Reel while darkness fell. It reappeared at about 4:40 when Jerry MacBeth struck the Ba' off the wall - after a short struggle, Thorfinn Craigie was declared the winner at 5pm.
